    Who takes your pictures?

When I work with a brand and I know that the content must be stellar, I work with my photographer who has been working with me since I became an influencer. He has worked with me for so long that he knows exactly what angles to take and how to make me look beautiful! ( lol). However, pictures that I take to inspire my audience will usually be done by friends and family. I find that people tend to like natural pictures which they can relate to.

How do you find time to work at the United Nations, be a mother and create content?

It is a good question! It is not an easy balance but because I enjoy every aspect, I fight to make it work. Obviously, if I was a full-time blogger and influencer, I probably would be more successful, but I like the fact that I can leverage on my intellectual persona to support people in poor countries and still utilize my creative self to be an content creator. People are always shocked to find out that I am an influencer and that I also work for the United Nations!

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Number 1: Be extremely clear in your mind about what it is exactly that you want to achieve. Know that you are unique and special and never ever let anyone bring you down. Number 3: Do not be afraid to stand out. Women especially are sometimes made to feel that they should not be bold. Defy this! Stand out, be fierce, be bold! Number 4: Wear colour!

One main reason that I think that brands reach out to work specifically with me is that I have a unique blogging style. Most bloggers are very similar in their style especially in Switzerland where most bloggers have a neutral and dark style. When you go on to my Instagram page, it is an eclectic mix of bold colours which instantly catches the eye! Another reason I think that brands want to work with me is because I inject a lot of my personality into my blogging. I’m naturally someone who…

What is the background to thecolourmemam brand?

When I first started out as an influencer, I asked myself, “What is my niche?” I looked around me. Almost all bloggers wore neutrals. I didn’t want to be like everybody — I decided I would not be afraid to be different. I would borrow from the West African culture of wearing colour and I would combine it with my unique and personal style to create thecolourmemam!
